Negotiation Skills

This programme is designed for public and private sector managers who want to develop their ability to negotiate successfully in a range of complex and demanding situations. The programme won't teach you tricks. What it does do is introduce delegates to the skills and tactics used by some of the world's most effective and experienced negotiators.

Through an intensive mix of taught elements, case studies, behavioural analysis and feedback, delegates learn about highly effective negotiation skills and their own behaviour in meetings.

The content of the programme is based on thousands of hours of research into the behaviours of world class negotiators – people who have a track record of negotiating win/win agreements that are successfully implemented.

The insights, tools and techniques contained in the programme have received outstanding feedback from senior managers within the NHS, IBM, Shell, The Cabinet Office and the Department for Work and Pensions.

Content

By the end of the programme, delegates will be able to:

Define their long term objectives for any negotiation.

Anticipate and really understand the other side's position.

Use a rigorous process for analyzing the power differential within the relationship.

Construct a plan that takes into account all the fixed and variable factors that will influence the negotiation process.

Identify, and integrate into their negotiation style, the behaviours and tactics used by highly skilled commercial negotiators.
