Coaching and Mentoring

Coaching and mentoring are pragmatic and cost effective ways of helping people improve their performance and develop their careers. This course answers common questions about coaching and mentoring, provides delegates with the opportunity to practise their skills and helps them to develop their personal approach to these types of relationships.


By the end of this course delegates will have:

Developed their understanding of the differences between precision coaching, developmental coaching and mentoring.

Learned a simple but powerful model to use when coaching or mentoring.

Used a coaching conversation to make progress on a real-life problem.

Practised their coaching and mentoring skills and received confidential feedback.

Considered the issues to be taken into account when agreeing the working arrangements for a professional mentoring relationship.

Increased their understanding of their personal style, strengths and limitations as a mentor.

Considered ways of finding an appropriate balance between supporting and challenging their coachee(s) and mentee(s).

Gained insight into they ways in which they can tailor their coaching and mentoring to suit different personality types.
